Protect yourselves.  Protect your rear flanks.  Here comes HR!

Had to snap this in my doctor's office today.  Too good not to!

It's Coming! It's Coming! ...

a new buzzword that is all the rage these days.  It's called "Talent Management" and it is so so much more sophisticated and important than "Strategic HR" ever was.  And don't even bring up that neanderthal concept of "Personnel."  Don't.

These kind of things keep people very busy in the HR Trade and it does beat working.  What doesn't beat working?  Come on.

It's all about talent management now people, and if you can't see the difference you'll never get that elusive seat at the table with the big dogs.  So here are some graphic representations of the evolution into higher levels of obfuscation as they relate to the "People" aspects of modern business.

What I think disturbs us the most about this trend is that those advocating it are the type of people that have NO CLUE that the basic word "Talent" has been used to describe the "actors" (both men and women) in porn.

So people that do know, like me, can only snicker.  Shame me if you must.  And I can only wonder what the "industry" must think of the usurpation of their historical term.

But because we still are in "HR" (at least for today) I thought it might be helpful to illustrate the process of talent management in the industry. Lucky you!

And as to the title of this post:   Double entendre intended.

Pun intended too.
